Proposal submissions should:

  • specifically, address dual language education;

  • when possible, show alignment with the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education;

  • articulate how the presentation content responds to a need or interest of classroom teachers and community members, and;

  • consist of hands-on activities, lecture, demonstration, and/or discussion.

Important Notes: The Planning Committee does not score proposals from companies or individuals who wish to demonstrate a product or service for sale or are considered commercial enterprises. CLICK HERE for information on La Cosecha Sponsorship.

Submission, Selection, and Registration:

All proposals will be evaluated and chosen by a committee of dual language educators. Not all proposals will be accepted. Historically, La Cosecha receives more proposals than there is room to accommodate.

Registration:

Lead presenters receive a special registration rate of $ 290.00! Co-presenters and panelists register at the regular conference registration rate.  All presenters must register by September 23rd.

Tips to strengthen your proposal/session:

  • Plan for best use of time.  Session times are 75 minutes. Participants appreciate opportunities to interact with the content and to ask questions of the facilitator(s). Please plan accordingly.

  • The committee is always looking for classroom teachers, instructional specialists, instructional coaches and/or academic coaches.

  • Explain how your topic relates to dual language education. Don’t assume the selection committee will clearly understand the connections!

  • Topics relevant to classroom instruction are highly desirable.  The committee is always looking for presentations by classroom teachers

  • Be as specific as possible regarding the targeted audience (i.e., grade level, position, etc.).

  • Respect the limited space for session title (100 characters/~10 word max) and descriptor (600 characters/~85-100 word max).

  • We welcome presentations in non-English languages.

  • Sessions that promote a specific product or demonstrate a service for sale, or may be considered a commercial enterprise, are reserved for sponsors only. CLICK HERE for more information.

  • Please make sure to align your topic with the most appropriate Guiding Principle strand.

  • Choose the most appropriate Conference Strand for your session. This will assist the committee in selecting sessions for the program and participants in choosing what they will attend.
