2020 Presenter Information

Welcome La Cosecha 2020 Presenter!

Our Planning  Committee is ready to support the 200+ presenters/presentations at this year’s conference.

Whether you are pre-recording your session, presenting through a Webinar Session (many), or have a

Collaborative Session (a few), our Tech Team is ready to assist in your preparation.

We are expecting the average attendance for a La Cosecha sessions this year will be 100-150 participants/session.  Some of our featured sessions will welcome up to 500 participants and, with our plenary and opening sessions, we are expecting over 2500 participants tuning in from around the world!

There are three standard formats for this year’s virtual sessions, and will be assigned one of the following Session formats:

  • Pre-recorded Session – these presentations will be pre-recorded (Sept/Oct) and will “broadcast” on the assigned day and time of the conference.  Presenters are expected to attend and engage the participants through Q&A and Chat-Box functions during the actual conference.

  • Webinar Session (Virtual-Remote) – presentations done live on assigned day, engaging participants through Q/A and Chat-Box functions.  A facilitation plan will be required for our Tech Team  in advance.

  • Collaborative Sessions (Virtual-Remote) – reserved for experienced presenters, this session format will host up to 125 people.  Break-out Rooms will be available for small group discussions.  Participants can be seen and heard.  Only 10% of La Cosecha’s sessions will use the Collaborative Session format.  A facilitation plan will be required for our Tech Team in advance.

Friday, September 28, 2020 - Final presentations posted

Friday, September 25, 2020 - Deadline for Lead and Co-Presenter registration - required for confirmation of presentation.

Tips to strengthen your proposal/session:

  • Plan for best use of time.  All sessions are 80 minutes. Participants appreciate opportunities to interact with the content and to ask questions of the presenter and/or facilitator(s) through chat box and/or Q & A box. Please plan accordingly.  Facilitation plans required of all Webinar and Collaborative Sessions - Facilitation Plan Templates available at LINK.

  • Facilitation Plans are required for all webinar and collaborative sessions (see Presenter Communications to be send directly)

  • Topics relevant to classroom instruction are highly desirable.   Note: during this time of the pandemic, inclusion of socio-emotional wellbeing of students and on-line delivery of instruction (DL strategies, sheltering and scaffolding, second language development, etc.) and socio-political connections to our learning and the movement will resonate as well.

All accepted presenters will receive an email by August 28th with detailed information on presenting on our virtual conference platform. Specifically regarding the facilitation plan, information on each session type and scheduling, and tech support provided to all La Cosecha 2020 presenters
