Call for Poster Artist

Honoring Our Story:

Reclaiming Our Past Through Empowerment and Action

The La Cosecha Conference Planning Committee is now accepting submissions to be considered for this year’s conference poster art.  The Conference Planning Committee and the DLeNM Board of Directors have worked closely with regional artists to create a visual that represents the theme for this professional conference and community celebration. La Cosecha posters have historically provided each participant a beautiful collector’s item/recuerdo for their participation.

The artist must meet the following criteria for consideration and selection:

  1. Be a resident of New Mexico,

  2. Provide a portfolio with at least two works that reflect New Mexico communities and/or cultures; and

  3. Submit a letter of interest/intent in response to the question: “Why do you wish to have your work represent La Cosecha as conference poster art?" And a concept drawing of  what you envision the poster art to look like as it relates to the conference theme.

Artisans will be considered in both traditional and contemporary styles and medias, including, but not limited to textiles, sculpture, painting, and pottery.

All artists will be judged using the above criteria and will be selected by the DLeNM Board of Directors. Artwork becomes the property of DLeNM and will be used for future fundraisers to benefit the Janet Montoya Schoeppner Memorial Scholarship.

Submit a brief bio with a portfolio with at least two, but no more than three examples, of your art via email to leslie@dlenm.org or click Submit Now to submit your application electronically.

Timeline:

Monday, May 31 — Deadline for submission

Friday, June 16— Artist selection announced

Friday, September 1 — Original piece for conference poster completed

  3. An artist bio in the conference program,

  4. Artist promotion through conference website, including selections from artist’s portfolio,
